Offwell Under Fives
Offwell Under Fives Pre-school is situated at Cotleigh Village Hall, near Honiton, which provides a safe, large, warm and bright environment with the additional benefits of a hard play area and large playing field. Our quiet village location allows us to utilise our peaceful natural surroundings daily to offer the children valuable outdoor learning, whether it be a walk to the church to look a local architecture, or developing gross motor skills using an array of exciting play equipment, or simply exploring the adjacent enclosed field for autumnal finds!
Our Leader, a qualified reception teacher, along with our assistant who is qualifed to NVQ level 2 status, provide stimulating, enjoyable play opportunities with an emphasis on fun. This approach to learning within the Foundation Stage Curriculum helps each child to develop to their full potential. We have excellent links with Offwell Primary School , having regular visits to the reception class and staff from both settings have close liaison to ensure a smooth transition is made from Pre-school to School.
The Pre-school is run by a voluntary committee of parents and is a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance. We value parental involvement in a number of ways:
- working in partnership with staff to promote children's learning and development;
- attending Pre-school sessions on a rota system to play with the children;
- helping with the running of the Pre-school (either as a Committee member, or simply making cakes for a fundraising event).
Offwell Under Fives Pre-school aims to promote happy, caring, sociable children and believes the team spirit found amongst the families and staff involved in the Pre-school help achieve this. Come along and join us!
Opening Times: Monday-Thursday 9.15-12.15 (term-time)
Age: Children aged 3 to 5 years.
