One of the South West’s happiest pre-schools, Jack and Jill Under Fives can be found at the Methodist Schoolrooms, Mill Street, Torrington, Devon EX38 8AL.

We are registered with the Charity Commission (no 1019044) and have been inspected and approved by Ofsted. The group is registered for 22 places per pre-school session. We are run by a Voluntary Committee made up mostly of Parents and are a member of the Pre School Learning Alliance. We take pride in being able to de vote quality time to children and our ratios are always below the Preschool Learning Alliance standard of 1:8. Whilst we have a modern, purpose built, fully equipped, bright and spacious room we are also very fortunate to have a large secure garden which is carefully supervised and loved by our children and staff.

We operate 5 days a week from 9:15-11:45am , however are very flexible and your child may come for as many or as few days as they would like. We can access Early Years Education Funding, which means most 3 year olds are entitled to Free Places. For those parents that need to drive to the pre-school, we can also offer free parking facilities.

In addition to the pre-school, we operate a successful and fun drop-in group on Wednesday afternoons from 12:45 – 2:45pm called the Little Cavaliers Play Club. Aimed at children from birth to 4 years we can offer exciting play time for your baby, whilst at the same time a more structured themed activity for your older child in preparation for the big step to pre-school/ nursery!

We provide a safe, happy and stimulating environment for all children and offer support for learning, promote confidence and independence and encourage good behaviour and consideration for others.
