We are a Committee run Playgroup. Our staff are highly qualified and have trained in Pre-school Practice/NVQ levels 2, 3 and 4, Music and Movement, Child Protection, First Aid, Special Needs and more.
Most of our staff have been with Busy Otters for a long time, some exceeding 17 years, and we believe that continuity and stability plays a big part in the “early years” of a child’s development. This is reflected in our latest Ofsted inspection November 2007.
We are located in a brand new purpose built building next to Ottery St Mary Primary School in Longdogs Lane, Ottery St Mary. The building consists of an entrance hall, office, playroom, kitchen, toilets and an outside play-area. The outside play area is accessed through patio doors from the playroom; this gives a good flow of inside and outside play throughout the day.The playgroup is accessed from Longdogs Lane; we share the same path as the school children in key stage one, access into the playgroup is through the large red gates.
