About the Nursery

The nursery is housed in a beautiful house overlooking Forde Park, close to Decoy Country Park in Newton Abbot.

The nursery comprises of a baby unit from 0-12 months and 12 months to 2 years on the ground floor, a toddler unit from 2 years to 3 years, a junior unit from 3 years to 4 years on the first floor and a senior unit from 4 years to 5 years on the second floor. The babies and toddlers have access to a separate sleeping room and there is a quiet room on the first floor for older children to use for sleeping or quiet play.

The Ark boasts a large, secure, walled garden with beautiful wooden play equipment, a large playhouse as well as a large grassed area. The bottom part of the garden is fenced off and houses Murphy and Poppet the miniature ponies, Pip and Celeste our pigmy goats and 2 also have Smithy and Harvey the guinea pigs and Blue & Daisy our rabbits. The children are accompanied by an adult when visiting the animals and are encouraged to help care for them.

There is off road parking for parents and visitors to the nursery.

We welcome children from the ages of 3 months to five years.

Our aim is to provide a rich, stimulating environment in order to holistically promote a child's development. The warm, friendly atmosphere generated by a happy, friendly staff will influence the emotional climate in which the children are being looked after.

Session Times

Full Day - 8.00am to 6.00pm (this includes breakfast, lunch and tea)

Morning session - 8.00am to 1.00pm (this includes breakfast and lunch)

Afternoon session - 1pm to 6pm (this includes an afternoon drink and tea)

Please note our session times are extremely strict. Children must not be dropped off before their session begins and must be picked up by either 1.00pm for a morning session or by 6.00pm for a full day or afternoon session. An additional fee is incurred for late pick-ups.

Fees for Clients

Full day session - £31.00

Morning session - £20.00

Afternoon session - £19.00

Please note the fees include meals and drinks throughout the day, nappies, wipes and formula milk. We try to accommodate any special dietary requirements in the meals provided, however if your child requires an alternative formula milk we would ask that you provide this.

Administration Fee

We charge an administration fee of £25.00 per child. This is a non-refundable charge that is required as soon as your place is confirmed.

Retaining Fee

A retaining fee of £100 per child is required upon confirming a place; this is deducted from the first invoice you receive. However, we will keep this fee if you fail to attend on the day and dates confirmed.

Deposit

When your child starts the nursery you will be invoiced for a deposit of 5 weeks nursery fees. This deposit is held on a separate account until one months notice is given that your child will leave the nursery. Your final month's invoice will show your balance minus the deposit.

You will be invoiced for nursery fees at the end of each month, prompt payment by cheque or cash would be appreciated.
